After school reopens, it seems as though it's been fieldtrip galore- ok, so it was just two trips. Still, it was fun. Went to Horticulture Park (HortPark) and got a sneak peek at the place. Bleh. The place seems boring. I was dying to ask how it's going to sustain enough visitors to ensure that the park doesn't plod along. I mean we already have the Botanical Gardens (which is bigger) and all the other reservoirs. Ok, so the only attraction for me would be the 8 by 8 m plot assigned to NP. It's been a bit of a shock that as a first year, we already have to compete for a public spot (against other first years AND third years). With a budget of $4000, I say, have fun to those who badly want the project. I'm just gonna do it for fun and don't expect to "win".

Lessons have been proceeding smoothly. Only two weeks to the final presentation. I'm rather worried that I'll screw it up like I screw up my environment science project. I wish I can calm down and slow down, instead of rushing like a bloody bullet train.

Last trip was to Green Rose, an aeroponics farm. Learnt many things about the place. Like the fact that it stinks in certain areas and dead squashed frogs spot the place. So not what we're suppose to learn though. Seriously, the taste of the Lettucino (lettuce + kiwi +lemon juice) is seriously an acquired taste. I can't get used to the tingly sour taste. Not to mention, the pulp wasn't drained off. So after a while, you actually taste watery bits of the pulp. *shudders*
And now I'm supposed to do a report on the trip. But on exactly what topic, I have no idea. Dr Chitra (she's from Bangalore- south India) didn't wish to tell us.

The new lecturer, Mr Saiful is an amicable person. The first lesson was spent more on listening to him regaling us with stories from Scotland. He can't speak Gaelic though, it's a real pity. I think Gaelic is a beautiful lyrical language that I wanna learn. Well, after I brush up on German, take up Dutch, French, Mandarin. I wonder whether I'll ever be a linguist.

Anyways, whoever says that bouquets are easy to make must either have no experience or plenty. Seriously, I think it was one of the tougher floristry projects. The leaves and flowers keep getting out of position (even with florist tape). I am however, rather pleased with the end result. At least I passed.

I got the date for Germany vs Portugal mixed up. Haiz...woke up like 2.30 am and waited and waited until 3.30 but the match wasn't shown. Perplexed, I went online and discovered the error. Haiz...

Deutschland MUST triumph over Portugal!
