First things first, i don't expect to be blogging for the next three, maybe four days so happy early lunar new year to all.

SO, let's get to today's events! Went for my stint early and found out that the teach in charge had finished it for me. THUS i got to see the CNY concert. best bit? I'm the only ex-student allowed! haha! :P Hey, being a volunteer HAS its perks like being allowed to buy the food there and so on..I just think it's fucking ridiculous to impose such a rule lah but it seems to be commonplace in many schools. Esp And. :)

Anyways, completed all the testing. Didn't teach the twenty odd kids ALL the alphabets lah, unlike yesterday because not enough time. Still, it was as fun as ever. Today had to test quite a number of foreign students. I like this India-born girl. Her determination to study is soooo admirable! Oh and then there was this cute little China-born girl who actually cried because she cannot read! So kelian lor...then when she read one word correctly, she was so happy! :)
Then had a couple more of china-born students, mixed with the local onces of course. I suspect one of China boys has ADHD aka hyperactivity. Look up wikipedialah if you don't get what the hell i mean.

Anyways, found out more about signs of dylexia in young children too. haha. Oh and I MUST tell you this funny storylah. The last kid to be tested was named something that looked arabic to us so we THOUGHT he/she took malay. When I went to get the kid, the malay teacher looked at me like I'm nuts. So later found out from office that it's a MONGOLIAN GIRL! Strange thing is, she's taking mandarin! (when she knows nothing of it!) haha. So damn funny lah.

Then keyed in the results and then headed to Anderson. Was too late to catch the concert but yeah. it was damn fun to see many people I know after such a long long time! So fun! Oh and held a Hi contest with Yvonne , ex 4/1 classchair, impromtu. Lol. She won...:( and of course ppl looked at us but like I care! :P

So damn high to see everyone!

Then it rather blah when it was time to leave. WANTED to watch matchpoint but no one to accompany. Then rmb that my auntie has half-day today so yeah went to meet her at taka. and it turned out to be a blessing in disguise!

At this rather well-hidden place in Taka, lies Royal Copenhagen! God, that place serves the VERY VERY BEST EARL GREY! Hey, I LOVE my teas kay! And the green tea cake was a nice complement to the minty goodness of my favourite tea! I think it's damn worth it! It comes in a fine china pot! Didn't really like the ordinariness of the Azu tea.

Then had lunch at pizza hut. I ate until I vomitted. Wonder what's wrong with me. Maybe because my stomach got shock because I last ate at 10 and it was 4? Hmm...whatever. At least I got to savour the tantalising pizzas.

Then headed to Jln Kayu to have dinner. :)

Yup, it was the best way to celebrate CNY!

Gong Xi Fa Cai! Wan Shi Ru Yi!

*throws out MORE confetti*

Weee....yesterday i got the call to come down! :) Maybe i'm nuts to be so ecstatic about being able to volunteer but yeah, I am!

The kids are SO cute! But then again, now some of them call me Uncle Khairul...-_-'''
Do I look THAT old?! My mum says she starting to see white hair liao...:( *must think positive...must...ok, I'm freaking out.)

Anyways, did I tell you how cute they are?! There was this one girl who said, "Aiyoh, my name upstairs!" (She left her nametag in her classroom)
When asked to write down her name!
:) Then there was this girl who was so sweet. Not to mention she said I was handsome! *rolls eyes* It was cute lah but still, that kind of insulted me. CALL ME UGLY! I DEMAND OF IT! I feel so much uglier now, I'm happy! *grins*
Oh then there was this boy who can't decide whether to use his first or his middle name. Stuart Cohen Something lah. Then he says, "Anything!"
Ok, so maybe I'm being lame but they provided so much fodder for lame jokes! and funny ones too. Not to mention all of them were SOOOOOOO cute and adorable!!!

But the admin work was terribl.e The computer crashed halfway so I ended up finishing just typing data in four hours. Terrible I tell you!

But the kids are soooo cute. Gawd. I need to take a breather soon.

Oh, btw, if you wanna know, I'm teaching the ALPHABETS! :) "A..Apple. B...Balloon!"
haha. And the phonics too.

Now, the REAL news why I'm terribly excited!

MATCHPOINT IS NC-16! (I can watch!!! woohoo!)
One of the reasons why I'm watching it is because of the gorgeously hawt Jonathan Rhys Meyers and goddess Scarlett Johannson! :P~
Haha. Actually, I just wanna see one scene in particular where Johnny is tied to the chiar, blindfolded with his tie, in his unbuttoned shirt and pants. haha. I'm a bit of a perv.

WHO CARES if Brokeback Mt is R21 (with plenty of cuts)? At least I can WATCH MATCHPOINT AND WALK THE LINE! Wooohooooo....

*throws confetti*

Btw, totally can't wait to meet everyone tmr! If we can't, well...too bad lor. Just come early when results are released! (btw, who says I can't get a job?! Got offerred a tutoring job but cannotlah. No time)

*********
Hmm...anyone knows if I can find a complete VCD/DVD of the series of 7UP and its followings? Like 14UP, 21 UP etc. It's currently shown on Arts Central but I didn't knew that it continued! I only watched sporadically. Hey, I'm now hooked on Law and Order: Special Victims Unit. It's kind of like CSI...gawd...no more CSI MIAMI. Ended its run a couple of days ago on AXN. SO i'm watching channel 5 for repeats. Especially since I missed a CRUCIAL episode that might leave some diehard fans crying. Yup.
Don't Read if you don't want to know...

skip to>>>>

Tim aka Speedy will die. Yes. That witty one liner braniac will die, only to replace the rather himbotic Ryan Wolfe. Sure, he's shuai and all but come on! I prefer brain over brawn.

1548753731737685

>>>>>here.

Yup. Seriously, i think i'm hooked on all sorts of forensics/crime series. Hey, NUMBERS actually was nice! Once you look past the mathematical formulas that I can barely grasp the concept of. To those who WATCHED it, remember shooter ZERO? That SO totally made little sense and a lot of sense AT the same time. i wish i had a brain that could process such info man...then I can enjoy such shows better. Wait...CSI doesn't require that so yeah. I'm SAFE!

Oh and the silly Love concierge. No matter how much I tell myself never to watch such crappy shows, I strangely feel compelled to do so. Haiz...maybe my will isn't so strong.

I TOTALLY CANNOT WAIT TO CATCH DH Season 2 (6 feb) and LOST season 2 (30 march) !!! :)
But thing is, KNOWING S'pore's bloody rigid censorship, let's just say, expect to see plenty of bad editting for DH. You're better off using the dead grey matter stuck in your cranium. Or go visit the official website and THEN watch channel 5. Or do something more technical.

Lost won't be THAT fun without Boone. Hey, I'm envious of those ruby red lips of his and his eyes...so clear...so...*drools*

Ok, enough idoltry. Talking about Idols, I'm purposely gonna go down to Cathay on feb 11 and watch ppl cry. HAHA! but of course, i'm going to watch Johnny Cash played by excellent Joaquin Phoenix. Oh and best bit? Resee Witherspoon! :)

Ok, I wanted to update yesterday but was sidetracked into helping my sis with her maths. I must say, Math teachers need more training on how to drill things into studetns head. I think the best person to do so would be mama chong. lol.

Anyways, I've heard terrible news. It seems this Friday, it isn't a half-day. it's school as usual. Yes, my sympathy goes out to you.

I thought the news feed I was given was almost correct until proven wrong. It seems that results will be out either in week 6 or 7. So yeah. It's actually two weeks of hell because you won't know exactly when it'll come out. A part of me don't want it to fall on Valentine's day that week because bad memories might linger...

To continue, yesterday I was accosted by Shawn. (Lit students should get the joke)
Went to changi airport of all places but it turned out to be an eye-opener. Who knew Changi had such gorgeous lounges? And tons of intimate places that I believe has not been desecrated. Thank goodness. Had a nice long conversation to boot so yeah, overall it was a fun experience.

Now I'm freaking bored at home. Not really lah but i miss the kids! Because the teach in charge hasn't told me to come down yet so i'm hoping it's tomorrow. She was sick last week so I didn't get to come down too!

ARgh! i still can't find the book a hundred years of solitude! All on loan! (with the exception of a couple in bukit batok and thanks to one asshole, one copy's missing)

I just hope I can get some moolah soon so I can grab myself a copy of Brokeback mountain the novel. Why can't I be freaking rich!? and i think everyone should get a copy of how to get rid of world poverty by 2025! including me of course. That way it's one more step towards a sub-utopia. Utopia as a general does not and cannot exist because everyone has a different definition and different wants which will conflict with others.

A start of a new week. And one week less to a helluva ride.

Hey, first things first. My blood test came back negative for thyroid! Ha! I can so eat as much as i want without fear...well technically, i still have to limit how much i eat.

Found this interesting thing:

When you're hungry at night, even though you've eaten dinner/supper, you're ACTUALLY NOT HUNGRY! It's your body telling you that your body needs more water. SO start drinking! Yup. For guys, it's ACTUALLY 12 and a half glasses and girls are like 9 glasses... However, if you feel thristy, you SERIOUSLY should drink.

Anyways, today was rather interesting...
While waiting for Bryan to go to NYP together, found out that a CERTAIN somebody was hospitalised. And was discharged later that day. To that particular someone, YOU BETTER EAT MORE!!! Or else I will go into nagging mother mode...and NO ONE likes that EVER.

Firstly, apologies to my cousin. To continue, NYP was better than RP. Bigger. lol. Anyways, saw that funny gan cheong keng cartoon. then headed to the exhibiton booth where I met my cousin's supervisor. Lol. (cont)
To my cousin:
how the HELL could you tahan that guy?!
(cont)
He was so long winded. I admit i was almost about to scream at him to hurry up already. And he kept repeating the same thing OVER and OVER again...-_-'''

And still, mr "VJ is my life" (you know you've gone when you start singing your jc's anthem practically everywhere you go...yikes) could just go nodding and nodding...Hmm...must ask him about his secret- maybe he tunes out?

Then visited the comp labs and the chem labs. The chem labs were interesting! Not to mention we were with this grp of funny people...i mean COME ON! How the fuck can you NOT know what E. Coli is? Haiz... (oh and it's one of the few times I realised that MC is actually a good teach)

Then said goodbye to bryan and went to meet Shiyun at City Hall. She visited that particular guy for me and sent my regards to him, so yeah, thanks sis. Had a nice lunch at LJS before we went looking around for presents. And I know I came back with a pressing need to move out and live in a loft apartment. With concrete floors and black tiled walls. With molecule clocks and this phillip starck furniture. which I know is practically beyond my reach.

I've finally got a 'gift' for everyone I know...which is around 40/+++. everyone gets the same thing when we meet to get our results. THAT is our REAL graduation wat...

Anyways, my right foot's arch is aching...maybe walked too much. Oh btw, debbie, you look so mature!

It's practically confirmed that results will be out on Feb 6. Why you may ask?

It's in the 6th week (which most , if not ALL JC/MI students know)

and results almost always come out on a Monday...

Better remember what Mama chong say about whether we were good or not...Too bad I clean forgot it liao. (anyone remember the code?)

I however am wondering...if results are out THAT early, does that mean that those in jc stop lessons or not? (for the period where all of us wait to be posted)

If yes, I'll be rather relieved. Less things to catch up on. If not, I don't mind. Really. Just that the students who find out that they CANNOT stay will be heart broken...pity them. Not to mention those who want out ASAP.

So everyone prep yourselves.

We're in for a helluva ride.

Gawd, I'm feeling a wee bit dizzy. Maybe it's because I had a blood sample taken from me this morning? I've been feeling faint since morning. Weel, partly because I keep seeing the whole syringe filled with this raspberry red blood. I'm partly fascinated that so much blood was taken but also rather horrified. Hey, I do get queasy seeing blood.

Ha. Wonder what the reading will say...

Hey, I KNEW something was fishy when I heard that MCYS gave a grant to Liberty League. Gawd, I should stop looking at the brighter side of things for certain issues. Seriously, I thought Singapore was about to change. I guess it's not time yet. And perhaps, it'll be that way. It'll be like the US army/marines policy: "don't ask, don't tell".

Seriously, if you want to know more, click here:

http://www.fridae.com/newsfeatures/article.php?articleid=1596&viewarticle=1

It'll be worth it if you champion human rights.

I am against reparative therapy. I believe that it's wrong to force a person to believe that they need to be cured from something that is them. Their sexuality. Hey, I am a pretty liberal person and I do believe that gender and sexuality run a whole spectrum.

It's kind of like you going to this 'therapy" session and being told, "Your the wrong gender" (and nope, i'm NOT talking about intersex people. Yes, I do know some of them but that is a whole other story). Trust the govt to give a grant to someone whose extremely confused and who believes that people of alternative sexualities (sorry, bestiality is not included. I think that's wrong because come on! Humans marry humans) are like alcoholics. Bleh. WTH.

I'm on the twelve step programme for being gay.

*rolls eyes* you know how ridiculous that sounds? Not to mention that the tran in charge is way way confused. Hey, just because he/she decided not to go for it, doesn't mean his psychological profile changes. I say even if he/she takes the test again, woila! You're a woman trapped in a man's body.

oh what the heck. Just don't read this if you don't get me and pretend that my last post was about the Globes. Btw, check out Anjax's blog. It has a yummy shot of natalie portman and adrian brody!

Peace out.

Hey. i watched the glamorous Golden globes awards in the morn. (who am i kidding?! We're waiting for the Oscars!)

Brokeback Mountation, a beautiful and touching love story (if you overlook the unimportant fact that it's between two cowboys...hmm) set in some rural past, swept away the globes for best motion pic, best screenplay, best director (practically everything it was nominated except for best score and best actor) .

All I know is that I'm looking for the novel. It's far more interesting. Not to mention somethings are just better left for the imagination. Ok, ok, so i'm grossing ppl out. sorry.

Ha. John williams once again proves why he's a music maestro. He got the globe for best score for memoirs of a geisha (which until now i must regretfully admit i've not read NOR watched. I'll pick it up soon)

Let's see, Singapore is going to expect tons of great movies very soon...

Brokeback mountain and walk the line will be out next month. :) I know I can't watch brokeback because it'll obviously be rated M18 (there are times when you wish you have a fake id and this is one of those times)

Walk the line, thank goodness should be within my age limit. can't wait for it to open on feb 9.

oh and matchpoint is another movie i want to catch. I'm a sucker for romantic stuff so yeah. too bad it might be M18. bleh. As much as being older has its perks, it has way too much downside that it's no wonder that so many people want to get younger.

The globes are also a time for us to gawk at celebs. I mean come on! resee and ryan are such a cute and sweet couple, i think some of us may need extra insulin shots. But my goodness, wth were some of the ladies dressed in?! So many green sheets of cloth disguised as haute couture pieces. But i must say, some of the ladies were gorgeous, esp the "The Women". haha (a line from Felicity huffman's speech)

The guys need to take a leaf from Adrian Brody's book. Come on guys...black ISN'T the ONLY colour coats and ties come in! There's dark blue, dark green, deep maroon etc.

The speeches were mostly hilarious but I remember Felicity Huffman's speech the best. Because when she said it when accepting the globe for her role in trans america, i almost cried. She thanked people who dared to be who they really are.

That set me thinking. And I hope it stirs up something in you. Are you really who you're projecting to the world or is it some kind of defensive skin you put on to hide behind your true self?

Gawd, i think I'm turning into a bimbotic idiot. I realised that I've been saying that little kids are cute!!! GAK! heehee. kids are fine. just NOT my own.

Life so far has been terribly busy; well, not AS busy as my fellow peers busy mugging in whatever jc they are in now. Hope you peeps relax a bit.

Don't want to see dead pandas when we get our results ya? Can you imagine?! The horror!!! (but before you do that, try to make sure you conform to the bloody rules for us ex-students returning. It's on epebble.)

I just hope they AT LEAST let us get away that day...i'm pretty sure some will be missing certain things. Like me. ha. If anyone has found my nametag, pls return them to me!!! (oh and my HP and the Order of the Phoenix...i mean come on! it's over two years! Return them before i curse you to the deepest pits of hell. If yours is a hardcover WITHOUT the bookslip AND you don't remember buying it, chances are it's mine. So return it!)

Ok, enough of the loan sharking. It's another tincy wincy step towards human rights when we now have a non profit group helping to promote the truth about alternative sexualities and gender confusion crisises and stuff. yay!

Oh you heard about that report about a man being arrested for being naked in his own house? Hmm...exhibitionist streak he has but still...can't you hang curtains or something?! Gawd, I wonder if my neighbours can see me now...I sure know i can't! i'm partially blind!

oh and can the dear govt please FUCKING STOP contradicting what they say?!

And to the idiots brainwashed into thinking that God wants them to bomb themselves up just to get to the 'highest heaven", all i can say is, are you sure you're god is really a god? Or just some figment of imagination?

Sickos.

Argh, crap. I so have to kll the author of Silk. How could she make Liam a slut?! No...
***
Haha. I doubt ANYONE knows what I'm ranting about unless you, like me, are one of those wolves who read fictionpress. :P

Anyways, today I officially started my volunteering stint.

Seriously, i was rather worried because..well, let's put it this way. If you're a paranoid perfectionist WITH a CS/I personality, there's a HIGH possibility, you understand what I'm talking about.

I truly think that Ms Lim is rather sick of me asking her questions. lol

I was to give the dolch word test to an entire class, 1/5.

*Dolch word test: Read 11 lists of 20 words (220 words) most commonly used in the English language like he, red, five etc.*

But my class went missing so i went to help with 1/4. Come to think of it, I finished around ten or so. but it felt like a hundred.

Sure, they were cute and adorable and stuff but it somehow got rather irritating when the kids just can't pronounce MANY words!!! Hell, I admit, I was so tempted to prompt them!

And it was JUST my luck. my first interviewee was this little tyke from CHINA! And he kept speaking mandarin. And yes, I was forced to converse in mandarin. (well, rather a smattering of it. My mandarin is bloody crap. even worse than german. DO NOT GO THERE!)

He understood little english so it was akin to a chicken conversing with a duck. Or maybe even a cat talking to a lizard. And let's just say, he's doomed if a miracle doesn't occur.

What I find funny after a couple more kids, I realised a shocking pattern. They KNOW the numbers but NOT when the number is spelt out in words. I wanted to laugh at first then i wanted to scream. FIVE was one of the "toughest word" for them but strangely, NOT SIX. And yet they were counting, 1,2,3,4,5,6!!! ARGH!

So yup, it was draining but still rather fun. I actually can't wait for tomorrow. What fun to listen to 25 kids saying "cannot". HAHA! (I'm demented because I got retained by my pri sch) Oh the joy to have graduated! The new teachs suck. serious. well, just one teacher. I think if there are any minions or hellspawn there, they'll be screaming and running back to hell with their tails under their legs. she was just too damn fierce!

So yup. tmr I'm doing admin work, my fav part of ANY job. Ok, so maybe I should seriously consider getting my name on the list of eccentric people. Who knows? Maybe i'll topple Bjork aka swan dress freak.

Hmm...went for madrasah and found out that my teacher is somone who taught the calss a couple of years back. best bit was that the class is considerably smaller (although we shall have to see next week to decide). haha. I think i might be liking classes. Well, with the occasional personal questioning of everything which keeps me sane.

Anyways, siow yi smsed me about V-day. and now I wonder whether or not our results will be on that week. because if it is, damn hell, I have better get my money out. Ok, it is after all the MIDDLE of feb so high possibility it'll be candyland.

Anyways, I do hope i don't screw up my volunteer stint. My trainings will be held this week, once school reopens. haha. It's Dolch word list. (still can't believe someone actually spent time compiling the most used words in the english language.)

anyways, happy birthday to all the jan lads and lasses.

Firstly, can ANYONE get me sleeping pills? Seriously, i totally can't sleep. And you would think not sleeping would turn those rusty cogs. Bleh. Who am i kidding? Let me show you some pathetic rubbish I tried to write yesterday night in my darnest effort to well spend my night.

And I wonder,
Was I truly the victor?
-----

This barren wasteland,
I used to call my home.
-----

See? Pathetic crap.

I just wish that if I can't sleep tonight, at least I can write something decent!

Anyways, I forgot that I wanted to write a review about Narnia. So here goes.

From the trailers, it would seem that Narnia promises to be a heart pounding story.
I don't mean to be a wet blanket but I thought that it wasn't worth all that hype. If you REALLY want to watch it, watch it on normal mon, tue, wed. Seriously, it isn't worth $10.50. (thank goodness I was treated to a free screening)

In the beginning, one would surely marvel the scenery and all.

The CGIs were fantastic. And never has a lion looked so regal like Aslan. And during the battle, oh I LOVE Aslan's armies' tactic. I was rather caught by surprise by their excellent strategy and rather pleased by it I might add.

However, the battle scenes were hardly worth the wait. Not to mention it seemed highly ridiculous to believe that some teen; still wet behind his ears, was tasked with leading an army! Not to mention somehow he learnt how to pick up the sword in less than a day?

Not to mention Susan barely participated in the fight! I mean it would have been cool to see a young woman shoot but no, when she shot this gusy to death, the scene was so darn lame I almost booed.

Now, if this came BEFORE LOTR, then maybe it could have gotten better reviews but MANY people kept comparing the battle scenes to that of LOTR.
Guess which one more prefered?

Oh and I don't like how the story turns out. Sure, one could look past the Christian allegorie and all but I truly didn't like how the story just seemed to be so sugar coated.

************
ACHTUNG!

GCE O level results will be out in a couple of weeks time. Or rather mid Feb. JC will resume/start in March and poly will begin in April. No more 3/6 months wait. It's coming sooner than you think. So those of you stuck in a jc not to your liking, fret not. It will be over before you even realised it. (I'm exxageratting. It'll seem like eternity but tahan!)

Exuent!

Today marks a milestone for many-the first day in jc or mi. For the rest of us? We have alonger holiday! haha. Ok, so maybe we're missing out on the making new friends thingie and so on but hell I'm not regretting (well, a small bit of me is but still)

Anyways, I slept in until late. Maybe it's because I was online until 2am. I so need to stop doing that. And I don't even do anything except type rubbish into google and then typing things again. If this is my subconcious telling me to sleep, I think I had better heed.

I even dreamt i had this HUGE wardrobe filled with clothes! haha. i mean come on, no one will wear a suede dark blue vest right?! and it took me hours to find just a black shirt. Hmm...maybe i do need to check whether or not i have too much clothes.

For the first time, I don't have a new year's resolution. I know i'm not going to stick to it so why bother? I'm going to give myself a goal that has no deadline. Sounds better. haha.

My first goal? To finish my writings. Let's just pray that two months is enough.

Why the hell am i posting rubbish, I'm not sure.
