Hey. i watched the glamorous Golden globes awards in the morn. (who am i kidding?! We're waiting for the Oscars!)

Brokeback Mountation, a beautiful and touching love story (if you overlook the unimportant fact that it's between two cowboys...hmm) set in some rural past, swept away the globes for best motion pic, best screenplay, best director (practically everything it was nominated except for best score and best actor) .

All I know is that I'm looking for the novel. It's far more interesting. Not to mention somethings are just better left for the imagination. Ok, ok, so i'm grossing ppl out. sorry.

Ha. John williams once again proves why he's a music maestro. He got the globe for best score for memoirs of a geisha (which until now i must regretfully admit i've not read NOR watched. I'll pick it up soon)

Let's see, Singapore is going to expect tons of great movies very soon...

Brokeback mountain and walk the line will be out next month. :) I know I can't watch brokeback because it'll obviously be rated M18 (there are times when you wish you have a fake id and this is one of those times)

Walk the line, thank goodness should be within my age limit. can't wait for it to open on feb 9.

oh and matchpoint is another movie i want to catch. I'm a sucker for romantic stuff so yeah. too bad it might be M18. bleh. As much as being older has its perks, it has way too much downside that it's no wonder that so many people want to get younger.

The globes are also a time for us to gawk at celebs. I mean come on! resee and ryan are such a cute and sweet couple, i think some of us may need extra insulin shots. But my goodness, wth were some of the ladies dressed in?! So many green sheets of cloth disguised as haute couture pieces. But i must say, some of the ladies were gorgeous, esp the "The Women". haha (a line from Felicity huffman's speech)

The guys need to take a leaf from Adrian Brody's book. Come on guys...black ISN'T the ONLY colour coats and ties come in! There's dark blue, dark green, deep maroon etc.

The speeches were mostly hilarious but I remember Felicity Huffman's speech the best. Because when she said it when accepting the globe for her role in trans america, i almost cried. She thanked people who dared to be who they really are.

That set me thinking. And I hope it stirs up something in you. Are you really who you're projecting to the world or is it some kind of defensive skin you put on to hide behind your true self?
