Sometimes, I wish I had a shorter holiday. Seriously, I'm languishing in boredom during the current two months holidays. Sure, I'm applying for the relief teaching position but thing is, I have a problem filling up the form. Haiz...

That's not to say that all I've been doing is to lead a lazybum's life. No wait...that's the truth. I've been waking up late despite falling asleep in the afternoon AND going to bed early, like 11pm. Bleh. I think I can actually feel my body growing horizontally (vertically, not so much. Kinda gave up hope of ever reaching at least 175. Who needs to be that tall anyways? *in denial*)

Anyways, I've been addicted to my anti-drug that is essentially Jaeho. So I've been spending hours on the computer, reading and reading. Of course, with some new music files to boot, it's actually quite an enjoyable activity. Now if I can just get grow another me to squeal with...

Of course, I've not been neglecting my duties! I've done some household chores and naturally returned back to nurture my sweet baby. Yet, I think I've stumbled once again on my damn writer's block. Which I am sort of thankful. It's been rather taxing on my soul, writing it out. So I returned back to my other baby and well...let's just say I'm terrified I'm venturing into an uncomfortable territory with it.

Thus in order to get fresh materials of sorts, I've watched some Korean movies. Okay, perhaps more than 3. I lost count. But Seducing Mr Perfect which is out in the theatres is hilarious; a welcomed change from the plenty of melodrama tear-jerkers I've fallen hard for. *grins*

On a less me-note, the Oscars this year was a tad too bland for my liking; the few highlights of the evening were the red carpet pre-show (a must watch), the awe-inspiring choir of sounds (or whachamacallit) and the rolling credits. I thought Ellen would have done a better job but hey, I had the exact same sentiment when John Stewart hosted it.

So we'll start with the earliest bit; the pre-show aka the silly adorations of stars. I mentally smacked my head when they were going oh, ah. That looks good on you. Come on people. Get new lines! And Kirsten Dunst, please do fire your stylist ASAP. Like NOW. Unless you're actually aiming for a spot in the Razzies.

That being said, I noticed the lack of sparklies and gowns that make you go WOW. I was expecting a bit more with the likes of Beyonce, Nicole Kidman etc. Sure, their gowns were gorgeous but a tad bland for my taste. Come on people. It's your time to SHINE; where's the bling?! Though I must admit I adore Kidman's red gown. She looked absolutely respledid, like JLo who was channeling some Greek Goddess; awesome I tell you. And not forgetting the night's best gown - Penelope Cruz. =)

The guys were blah, blah and blah. God, I wish someone could just wear a coloured shirt or a different coloured suit or something. I swear the guys could have all been extra in the March of the Penguins. Too bad they couldn't get the walk down pat. And guys, please, please, please do shave or at least trim. Take a leaf from Leo's book, Clooney dear.

The awards itself was overall expected. With the exception of Best Supporting Actor and Best Foreign Film. Although I have read that Eddie threw a fit when he lost out. Dude, chill. PS. Btw, I think Norbit's not worth my money.

And I heard Channel 5 editted out Melissa Etheridge's acceptance speech. What the hell is wrong with thanking your spouse?! (okay, technically, her life partner since Cali hasn't recognised all marriages yet) I wonder how long more will this go on. I predict until the PAP falls. Which might take a long long long long time. (times infinity if LKY has his way)

Oh yes. The Oscars made a huge booboo when they said that The Departed was based on a Japanese movie. God. Don't people ever research before they present? I guess not, despite the fact that more and more people are relying on Wikipedia.

While I would applaud the Oscars for being so diverse this time, next year, can we PLEASE return back the wit, glamour and hilarious banter back? With a touch of political and or social commentary thrown in.

Truthfully, when Al Gore went on stage, I half-expected him to announce his candidacy for the White House. That would have been swell. Oh well. Now it's either Hilary or Obama for the running. Although I do believe I read sometime ago that the former Democrat, Rudy Giulani's contesting too. Can't wait for Bush Jr *brushes tongue* to get out.

Now, now...enough politics. Just remember to catch An inconvinient truth when it comes out on dvd. I wonder if anyone has posted it online...hmm. I'll be off hunting it down. Btw, I realised just how silly Formula 17 is compared to say...Eternal Summer. I'm digressing.

As I've promised, the pictures of Gina & Dave.

Dave's cute isn't he? Tough fella I tell you that!

Gina now is a tad sun shy. Gets burnt easily. Pity they don't sell sunblock for plants.

The very rare Ophiopogon Jaburan's inflorescence! Loy's hand btw.

Pandanus pgymaeus' inflorescence I guess.

Now remember.

Go green.
